An old fashioned story that even looks like a picture book from an earlier time. Yet the story of a boy and his dog or in this case a dog and his boy never grow old. This one is told simply in an uncomplicated way that young preschoolers will be able to follow. There's a sweet little story here of a dog that no on cares about until he meets a little boy in the park who does. When the boy and his family are about to move the stray dog, Fleabag is the one who takes care of the boy and you know how this is going to end.

When little owl falls out of a tree Squirrel finds him and does all he can do to help Owl find his Mama. Taking each description of Mama literally, when the little owl says his mama is big, Squirrel leads the lost owl to bear. When Owl says mama has pointy ears Squirrel leads him to rabbit. All's well that ends well in this quick read aloud with a satisfying ending that toddlers will appreciate. 2 ½ & up.

Welcome back! These zany Sheep in a Jeep have been among the missing for a few seasons. Originally released in 1986, some of today’s parents may have enjoyed this when they were little lap-sitters. It’s a great read aloud for toddlers with its bouncy rhythm and rhyme. Published on sturdy stock this is a board book that you will be reading aloud again and again. There are other books in the series, but this is the best of the lot. 2 & up.
