2015 Award
Disney Doc McStuffins Operation
(Hasbro $22 Score:)

A fitting new version of the classic game of Operation, but designed for younger players and fans of Doc McStuffins. It has easier to grab pieces and a bigger opening so little hands will have less trouble getting the game pieces out. Our tester thought the sound had been toned down and was less intrusive than in earlier Operation games. Comes with 10 cardboard bandages to cover the boo-boos. 4 & up

2014 Award
Tickety Toc Chime Time
(Wonder Forge $30 Score:)

Fans of Tickety Toc will like trying to make it around the game board all the way to Chime Time, collecting rewards along the way. Of course, they will have to find missing tools on the playing board, pretend to be a fish or even dance like a robot. With each turn they get to turn the cog wheels on the unusual playing board and doing that moves the clock that much closer to Chime Time! Winner is the one with the most tiles. No game is exactly the same. 2-4 players ages 3 & up.

2013 Award
Peaceable Kingdom Stack Up!
(Peaceable Kingdom $29.99 Score:)

Designed for preschoolers, this really is a cooperative game that can only be played by working together to lift the blocks in a stack. The players are trying to beat the Stack Smasher ( a cardboard playing piece shaped like a hand) as it moves around the board. In one game there are challenge cards that require kids to bark or sing or do other actions on their turn. Again, they do this together. There are three games for preschoolers to play with two lifting rods. In one game they use the skinny end of the rod; in the other game they use a sponged tip to lift the blocks and add to the stack. The maker has also included directions for a two-year old color sorting game that little siblings can play. So many games for preschoolers are hard for beginners deal with, especially the winning and losing part. Here the game is played against the board instead of each other as they learn about taking turns and working together to beat the silly old stack smasher. It can also be fun for multi-generational family fun that can include preschoolers with ease. 3-5

2011 Award
Sesame Street Chutes and Ladders
(Hasbro $14.99 Score:)

The Sesame Street gang has now joined forces with the classic games Chutes & Ladders. The game play remains the same with the same possibility of being sent back! Maybe it will hurt alittle less if you're going backwards with Cookie Monster, Elmo, Ernie and Abby Cadabby. Our testers agreed that this was a fun use of the Sesame Street gang to spice up an old game. 3 & up.

2010 Awards
Shark Attack
(Patch Products $19.99 Score:)

First introduced to a generation of kids in 1988, Shark Attack is back!  Our testers loved that the motorized shark moved around the board with the possibility of eating the fish (each player has a fish on the board).  You need to roll the die to keep ahead of the shark. The last fish on the board wins!  Rounds go pretty quickly.  A fun game for kids 5 and up.

Hide & Seek
( $16 Score:) Testers like this memory game with a twist. Attractive images of familiar objects are pictured on small discs. Put colored plastic discs over five pictures, roll the color die, and try to name what picture is under the matching disc. A good language, color, and memory game for two or more players. 4 & up. 800-886-1236.
