) Potty Videos There are no magic bullets, but it may be a helpful reinforcement. Two to try: It's Potty Time developed by the Duke University medical Center, this "story" features kids of many ages getting ready to go to a party. Now I Can Potty (K.I.D.S. $19.95) Kids show and tell kids through songs and action how they learned to stop what they are doing to go to the potty. Age: Toddlers,Preschool. Award Year: 1995.
) In the newest of Sesame Street's Kids Guide to Life series, Maria takes Big Bird shopping. The bad news is that Big Bird gets lost; the good news is that Maria has taught Big Bird and viewers a catchy song for remembering their phone number as well as how to find help in the store. A non-threatening but valuable video with guest star Frances McDormand. 3-7 Age: Toddlers,Preschool,Early School Years. Award Year: 1999.

) Caillou is older than Maisy, less noisy than Elmo, and paced just right for young viewers. Caillou doesn't want to go to daycare and both his parents need to go to work. His very patient father takes some extra time to show him all the people that work in their neighborhood, including his teacher! Not as good as last year's Caillou the Explorer PLATINUM AWARD '02, which explored transportation from a child's point of view.
Age: Toddlers,Preschool. Award Year: 2003.

) Elmo, Mr. Noodle, and the rest of his gang give tots tips on sleep, getting dressed, and taking care of their teeth. Live action film of a first visit to the dentist is especially useful. 2 & up. Age: Toddlers,Preschool. Award Year: 2003.

) Toddlers who are on the threshold of "potty power" will relate to the kids in this video who demonstrate all the things they as big kids can do—including "going potty." An amiable young woman sings and speaks along with an animated roll of toilet paper—sounds a bit hokie, but comes across as age-appropriate and not preachy. No miracles promised, but it couldn't hurt! (800) 477-7811. 2 1/2 & up. Also recommended: It's Potty Time (A Vision $19.98). Developed by the Duke University Medical Center, this "story" features kids of many ages getting ready to go to a party. Age: Toddlers. Award Year: 2005.

) As always, Caillou delivers slice-of-life stories that are right on target for preschoolers. Caillou helps his little sister Rosie, he faces his fears about a waterslide, and plays with his friends as they construct a road and a bridge. No big surprises or scares here. Just right! Age: Toddlers,Preschool. Award Year: 2007.
