For the very youngest Mickey Mouse fan in the making, this totally soft plush huggable has a jingly rattle safely inside, crinkles in the ears, and all stitched features on the outside. With her embroidered face and all fabric body, this adorable 13" doll is lightweight enough for toddlers to hug and hold. She wears a red and white print dress, white underwear, striped stocks and hot pink shoes. To keep things simple and age appropriate, the clothes are sewn in place. Her pink and orange hat matches her shoes and socks and both have a velour like feel while the knit arms, legs and face have a soft but different texture. A good first doll with long enough arms and legs for toddlers to grab and carry with ease. They say 0 +,  but this looks more like a toddler doll to us.

Elmo now sings, plays the bongos and the tambourine. He'll sing with you. He's programmed to sing six songs (the words come with the instructions). He's cute--furry enough to feel friendly. His voice is Elmo's (no discernable difference from switching from the folks at Fisher Price to Hasbro) in that regard. He will go head to head this year with Mattel's Rock Star Mickey. In our comparison, we'd pick Elmo. The sound quality of Mickey is grating and he's less animated than last year's Dance Star Mickey whom we loved.

Cat is one of a trio of lovable dolls for toddlers. She is 12-inches big with long legs and arms that are easy for small hands to grab and carry. Her red corduroy body is has a big orange C is for Cat monogram and her plush head is hot pink with stitched on features. She has patterned ears and one arm and leg done in these colorful cotton fabrics. Her other arms match her short plush head in hot pink. Back in 1993 we gave this pink and yellow monkey our Platinum Award. It's been gone for a while. This season the 17" monkey is back along with an adorable hot pink Knotted Baby Cozy. These are very short plush with a truly velvety feel-the cozy is softer than the 17" monkey. Both have stitched eyes and no doodads that will come off by surprise. Perfect first huggables with long arms, legs, and tails that make them easy to grab hold of and tote about.

With a beanbag bottom that helps it sit on its own, this grey and white pooch with stitched features and a huggable body will please toddlers and preschoolers who love an armful. One of a collection of Cozies, the brown and tan monkey and smiling gray and white Dog are about as cute as stuffed animals can be.   Both have long limbs that make them easy to grab and hold and they are floppy  enough to lie down for naptime snuggles.
