2006 Award
Not Norman, A Goldfish Story
(by Kelly Bennett/illus. by Noah Z. Jones, Candlewick $15.99 Score:) Like most kids, the boy in this story wanted a pet other than Norman, a boring fish that just swims ’round and ’round. But as the story unfolds, both boy and goldfish are transformed. A tad unbelievable but surely satisfying for those who cannot have furry or feathery pets for any number of reasons. 4 & up.
