Important Advisory: We are now requiring companies to provide us with documentation that their products have been tested by an independent lab for phthalates and lead. We are requiring products submtted going forward to: (1) Follow the guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendation that products contain no more than trace amounts of lead (as defined by the AAP as 40 parts per million); and (2) contain no phthalates. However, as we are not a lab, we will not be independently verifying those results. Also, with the exception of the 2008 Platinum Toy Awards, toys submitted for review prior to January 2008 were not tested for lead.. to submit

There is no fee. The submission forms help keep us organized and also serve as your certification to us that the products are lead free. You should send one sample of your product along with the suggested retail price and an 800 number or website for consumers. You should include your contact name and address along with your phone, fax and email addrsss for our use. We consider only finished products. We can not test prototypes with kids. We do not return products to manufacturers. Products are either kept by the testing family or donated to children's charities. Given the large number of products we receive we report to manufacturers only about products selected for the website or book. We welcome f&g's and screeners throughout the year Since our book goes to press in July we need to see F&G's and screeners for fall as early as possible. We do not need final packaging for videos or audios in order to consider product for the book. If you wish to know if your product has arrived submit a self-addressed stamped postcard with your product. Please do not call to see if your product arrived or when it will be reviewed. |
