Though this kind of book about a reluctant school child is almost cliché, this one has a certain bounce to it. Simon, a bunny keeps repeating “no way!” whenever school is mentioned. Yet there is a good natured humor in all his remarks…or to use another cliché…he protest-ith too much! Too bad the author could no come up with a less predictable ending, but to kids it will be less obvious and unlike many other books of this kind, this one has a good spirited tone rather than being like the bitter medicine of a message book. 4-7.
