illus. by Jannie Ho, Price Stern Sloan $5.99 Score:A traditional game for children at the Passover Seder is Hide the Afikomen. An adult hides a piece of a matzoh and the children in the family have to find it. Although traditions vary from one family to another, in our family, the father has to buy the matzoh back from the one who finds it. This is a very young version of that game. The cast of players are a mama sheep, a papa turtle, a little duck, and a bunny. The first to find the matzoh wins. Each of the pages has a few flaps to lift with funny surprises behind them. This is not a great piece of literature, but it does playfully reflect a traditional game that preschoolers will recognize. 3 & up
