The Sodor Mining Company play setting has a see-through window into the mine. Push the tower and the gold nuggets inside "rumble" and tumble. It has no electronic lights or sounds other than plastic nuggets that rattle some. Put Thomas on top of the track and he races down past an exploding mine shaft. This is a pretty limited pricey play setting with a single cast iron engine that can simply go down the ramp and then needs to be pushed back up. The set includes track to connect to other Take and Play sets. Be forewarned: The tracks in these sets are not compatible with other Thomas playsets. We think that is unfortunate. However, on its own, this is a fun set for beginners that requires no building or connecting. 3 & up.
