Gus decides that he wants to camp out in the backyard for the night. In a series of one liners per page, the story unfolds as it grows darker and darker and Gus has a change of heart. Although the pictures will give clues and there are only short sentences, the words are not phonetically similar and therefore may be a bit harder for beginners to decode. There are 65 words that are basically going to be "sight" words with little repetition. So, this is not as easy as many level 1 books.
