Links are an interesting addition to the Grippies line of magnetic toys that are big enough for toddlers and preschoolers to use safely. The magnets are totally buried in the chunky plastic pieces and the sets we are reviewing here are the ones that have stackers and connecters that are big enough, even for kids who still mouth their toys. Links come with 16-pieces that can be stacked or built like bridges. The ones with ball shaped heads look a little like people. Happily the ones with ball shaped tops do not come apart and come in two sizes. As you and your toddler play with these use size, position and color words to enlarge language and basic concepts. These can stand alone for stacking games and introducing them to STEM concepts about magnets and how they can attract and repel, something they will learn in a hands-on way. Marked 18 months and up. We think they will be even more interesting to preschoolers. The various sets of Grippies are compatible. Each variation comes in a sturdy bucket with secure lid for safe storage.
