Gamewright This Game Goes to Eleven

(Gamewright $12.99)

This game is based on the movie Spinal Tap, not a film most kids will know. If you’re looking for nostalgia this is probably not for you. It’s a relatively easy game to learn and requires pretty simple adding skills. Players begin with three cards each and three cards on display on the table. As play begins, the first player adds one card to the displayed cards on the table. If he puts down one that adds up to less than eleven, the game continues. If the card played adds up with the others to exactly 11, the player hands off all the cards on display to an opposing player. If the player puts down a card that adds up to more than 11, the player must take all the displayed cards. Clearly, the object is to have the fewest cards at the end of the game. Our testers had a great time trying to stick it to other players when they could play a card that added up to eleven! That’s when the opposing player gets stuck with all the cards in the pile. But what goes around comes around…as they say. So, the game goes back and forth with players trying to be the one with the fewest cards by the time all the cards are played. A lively fast game for 2-6 players.
