If you have a Thomas & Friends fan, you'll want to consider this playset from Fisher-Price. Full disclosure here, we were skeptical since we tend to prefer wooden train sets but this setting quickly won both kids and adult over as a fun toy train experience. Our testers loved all the different movable pieces including the shed for the trains has one lift for repairs and then separate lifts to propel the trains onto the roundabout. There's also a bridge that you can raise and a windmill that moves when a train crosses part of the track. The windmill concept is very clever -- it doesn't reset easily though so you have to wait for the train to rise back up to do it again. That said, this is a fun train set. Comes with Thomas and a helicopter -- so we recommend adding some other trains. Our battery-operated trains worked well on the tracks -- which unfortunately do not connect to traditional wooden trains.
