Magformers Build up House Set

We like the new format for Magformers that comes with snap in brick wall panels, windows, and balconies. There is a big mat designed to use to make a pop-up castle. You and your child lay out the pieces that match on the mat. When all the pieces are in place say abracadabra and lift the flat pieces that will pop together into a small standing castle. Turn the big mat over and there are other smaller models that can be copied, though they will be a little harder to do since the pieces are not one on one matching. 3 & up. 50 pieces. A word of warning: popping the flat brick panels into the magnet squares makes them hard to take apart. That probably will not matter to most preschoolers who will like building and rebuilding with these pieces. It’s a less open-ended toy than the original Magformers, but we think kids will like exploring their own ways of using the forms as well as using the patterns offered. Playing both ways has benefits and opportunities to use their visual and fine motor skills.
