Playmobil Take Along School House

August 9, 2016

(Playmobil $39.99)

This is not so much a building set as a miniature setting that will be right for kids who are about to start school. The school house opens up and is connected with floors that make a platform for the chairs and big worktable. There’s a “chalk” board that can be written on with the white pencil that comes in the set. Of course, in addition to the furnishings there are backpacks and other supplies and best of all, for pretend action, there’s a teacher and three multi-cultural students who will act out the dramas your child creates. This kind of setting is excellent for role-play as they rehearse or play out some of their feelings involved in going to school. Dramatic play encourages kids to spin their own stories. When playtime is over, pack all 68-pieces into the schoolhouse and close it up for another day. It has a handle on top for take along play dates. There is also a big yellow school bus ($39.99) in this collection with four figures and other accessories. This, too is a setting that will inspire plenty of role-play. 4 & up
