Magformers Tileblox Rainbow 30 Piece Set
(Magformers $51.00)
With squares and triangles and a large magnetic base, this thirty-piece set of tiles can be built free style or by following patterns on the idea sheet. A wonderfully versatile building set for preschoolers. The set comes with 8 triangles, 12 squares, a magnetic board, and a step-by-step idea sheet. For safety sake the magnets are inside the translucent colorful tiles. Preschoolers will begin their hands-on learning about the nature of magnets. Use these for sorting by color or making patterns as well. These call for fine motor skills. Our tester soon learned that when pieces are stuck together, sliding them apart works better, especially if you do not have fingernails. 3 & up.
SNAP: These will work well for free form exploration and for sorting shapes or colors. Also try introducing patterns: you start with putting together a “train” of square, triangle, square, triangle, and what comes next? Or, try red, yellow, red, yellow, what comes next?
Ages: Preschoolers
