FoxMind Match Madness

(FoxMind $29.99)

A Canadian company brought this fast-paced game for school aged kids and family game fun a while back. It's new to us this season. It's a two player game or can be played by two groups. Each side gets five identical patterned blocks. They compete to be the first to arrange the blocks to match the patterned card drawn from the pile. These cards range in difficulty, so for starters, we suggest playing the easiest ones first. The blocks have patterns on all four sides, so it's not as simple as it may look at first glance. Team play may be the best way to introduce the game to give kids strategies for playing the blocks. It's the kind of game that calls for visual skills as well as flexible thinking and problem solving. Not easy, but good fun! They say 7 and up, but we think this will be even more fun for older kids and even for solo play.
