eeBoo It’s Showtime Pretend Play

(eeBoo $12.99)

Kids love putting on shows of all kinds. This clever pack of props give them signs for putting on a circus, a ballet, a concert or a play. The back of each has useful signs such as stage door, box office, play money, and blank wipe off programs to write in what’s showing today. There are also four pop corn boxes, tickets, a cardboard microphone, and a bouquet for the leading lady or prima ballerina. Of course kids can make many of these items themselves, but these ready-made props allow for role-play as well as giving a framework for the young performer. This kind of pretend play develops language and social skills and opportunities for role-playing. These are all-important learning skills that have no right and wrong answers but encourage children to spin their own stories along with communication skills. There is also a Best Pal’s Diner for the same age group and a World Traveler pack with play passports, postcards, tickets, a world map and other props. This set is for slightly older kids (we’d say 5+) who do international travel with family and will enjoy playing out some of the roles they’ve seen along the way. All the Pretend Play sets are marked 3 & up; we think slightly older kids will enjoy them more.
