A classic 96-piece building set with colorful gears, building bases and handle that can be assembled in countless ways. A hands-on way for children to make discoveries about cause and effect, as they link the gears horizontally and vertically. How many pieces can they get going at the same time? Can they make a “machine” with a color pattern? How about an all green machine? There is no right or wrong way to use these gears, but they won’t move unless the young builder makes it happen. A wonderful S.T.E.M. construction set that gets more complex use as children become familiar with the possibilities. There is an activity guide in the box, but try not to get too locked into their images. Encourage your child’s explorations. This was a platinum choice years ago and remains a blue chip choice that develops problem solving, dexterity, and creativity. 3 & up.
